  • Why do people have to be so stupid?? You know the speed imit on Bayshore is 40 yet when the sign flashes that you're doing 55 you still keep going even faster. The really stupid part is there were only 3 cars on that road this morning and this numbnutt was ahead of both of us clearly way ahead of the pack. I guess its a way to let everyone know just how much faster you're going. Should be easier for TPD.

  • This newer neighborhood has 85 houses and their access street goes onto an older existing neighborhood street. They pull out from their street all the time w/o stopping at their stop sign. This morning the silver Infiniti pulls out barely slowing down enough to make the turn as I am approaching their street. For my direction, there is no stop. It's a T intersection with me going across the top of the T. But these new neighborhood drivers might think they are too important to stop. Then they fly down the older neighborhood street to the highway, as this guy did, much faster than the 35mpn limit with older houses left and right. Today I caught up to him, not by speeding, because there were other cars waiting to turn onto the highway. I wish they would respect those of us who have lived here much longer than their newer development which was woods only a few years ago. Maybe you will say class envy, but it's really bad driving behavior that drives my dislike for that newer area's residents. Have a nice day!

  • What a Monday morning! Two pullouts and a tailgater. The 2nd pullout this morning was from a small neighborhood near Eight-Mile Creek on Mobile Hwy. I saw a Ford Ranger truck come up on me fast from the rear and just as I looked back this driver was exiting his neighborhood and getting in front of me. Don't you think this guy could see that the Ford was tailgating me? So before I hit the brakes hard, I barely had 5 seconds to tap my brakes 4 times to signal the nut case behind me to slow down NOW! I know what you'll say, but I did NOT look at my rear mirror for a long time. This area is busy and over a hill, so I'm careful here. A quick glance at the mirror is all I took, as we all do. The rude pullout driver sped up and I turned on to another road leaving the tailgater to catch up to the pullout driver. Before getting to work there were two cars pulling out from opposite sides of the highway onto the road in front of me, but no problem because they were way ahead. I only mention it as comic relief since I was having quite a bad, err... interesting commute on this Monday morning.

  • What a Monday morning! Two pullouts and a tailgater. The first pullout would not wait 5 seconds for me to pass by as I was coming down a hill. Driver exits a new neighborhood, stops at the line, pauses, and the pulls out anyway. I'm coming down the hill at 55mph but he/she doesn't care a bit. I got the tag when driver caught up to slower traffic a few miles later.

  • First he was a left-lane Nazi at 55MPH, but when the speed dropped to 45, then he decided he wanted to do 65. After I passed thru the second toll-booth with him behind me, he then decided I wasn't accelerating fast enough for him and attempted to slide around me on my right before the lanes started, even though I was signaling for the right lane. For the next couple miles, he maintained the same speed as I behind me, both of us in the right lane, until the highway opened up to 3 lanes. At which time, Beemer speeds up, passes me on the left, then slips back over 2 lanes to make his exit. Obviously, *he* owns the road and had to prove it to just me, and not any of the other 8 cars that passed both of us on the right while he was hogging the left lane.

  • This idiot caught my eye on Gandy boulevard this morning speeding and lane hopping. When we reached the red light to turn onto Bayshore I observed that he had no brake lights. When the light turned green he shot off and the radar said 57.

Hey dumbass the speed limit on Bayshore is 40! You also couldn't make it more obvious when you're way ahead of the pack all by your lonesome with no brake lights!

  • Saufley Field Rd, about 12:50pm. Driver pulls out from a side driveway in front of me (a right turn), takes time to turn the van 90 degrees and speed up. But only for a bit, slows down and turned right onto another driveway. I won't say what the establishment was, but the driver turned from it's exit to another entrance. The driver certainly could have and should have waited a few seconds for myself and the driver behind me to go by ESPECIALLY if the driver knew he/she was only going to be traveling a few feet on the fast moving road. • Western Pensacola on Mobile Hwy, this Nissan pulled out from a newer neighborhood, Aubrey something. Even though I had the headlights on and when I saw the car approach the highway I flipped up the high beams, he still pulled out anyway. I used the high beams to indicate my high rate of speed as a safety warning, to no avail. Moments earlier another driver did the same thing on the same road and I also used the high beams but the driver went anyway, yet only went one block and turned off making me slow two times. I didn't get that plate. One minute later his guy in the Nissan does the same thing and I think there's a bullseye on my hood or something. But at least the same thing happened to him within my view. A truck pulled out from a side street forcing the Nissan driver to slow considerably, so I laughed at the irony. Yes, what the truck driver did was just as wrong but I like seeing it happen to those who do the same thing. I hear from others "Share the road", yet what about being safe on the road? I don't mind having to slow a bit but hitting the brakes hard means that you should have waited. If you can't then realize how many other lives you are affecting if you are wrong and how selfish you are being by not being safe and considerate.

  • This jerk and a cadillac were behind us and we watched as the explorer tried to pass the cadillac by taking the right turning lane, but they couldn't go fast enough. After the cadillac turned, the explorer was behind us and because my husband didn't feel like causing an accident with our child in the car, allowed the asshat to pass us by taking the right turning lane at an intersection.

We watched as this woman tailgated every car in front of her, passed cars with oncoming traffic and she couldn't even accelerate fast enough to actually pass the vehicles...they had to slow down to let her back in.

She tailgated a Penske truck through a construction zone and then we lost her...only to find her again parked at some souvenir shop south of Marineland.

With driving skills like that, I hope she has insurance.

  • West Pensacola, Mobile Hwy near a septic tank company. This jerk came really fast down a dirt road to the paved highway and didn't care if other traffic was already on the highway at 55mph. This jerk just turned the corner in a cloud of dust and pulled onto the road, then sped up. Because of the dirt road he was on, he would not have been able to stop at that speed even if he really had to. I had to hit brakes hard to avoid running into the rear of his truck. So I flashed the high beams and honked the horn. All he did was to look back at me using his side mirror as I could see part of his face. (some people will wave or point, but nothing from him) Then he turned right onto Beulah road going north. He didn't care if he would have caused an accident or not. Believe me, if my car would have been 1 or 2 seconds further down the road, I might not be here to type this report.

Car hits school bus   Friday, August 13, 2010

This is a picture gallery on my local newspaper website about an accident involving a school bus yesterday. My intention here is to make you aware of school starting and to please be careful around school buses and school zones. Frequently I am tailgated in active school zones and sometimes even passed (on a two-way road). Have a SAFE day! :-)

Dangerous Driver Alert   Sunday, December 27, 2009

There is another dangerous driver I encountered that I need to let everyone out there on PlateWire about. This happened on Sunday evening, 12/27/09 on North Boulevard just north of Kennedy Blvd. in Tampa.

I was slowing down on North Boulevard in preparation for a right turn on Kennedy Blvd. when some driver behind me for no reason tailgated me and tried to run me off the road. I am not sure what this driver was up to but the driver tried to run me off the road even I was making the right turn onto Kennedy.

Unfortunately, I was unable to get a description of the vehicle nor the tag number in order to file a PlateWire report as it was too dark. The driver who tried to run me off the road also gave me obscene gestures as he passed by me.

To the driver who attempted to run me off the road on North Boulevard north of Kennedy Blvd. in Tampa, you may think you were in a hurry to get somewhere. What you did to me on North Boulevard bordered on assault and if I had your vehicle description and tag number I would have called Tampa PD to make a report. Next time, if you need to be somewhere at a given time plan accordingly and leave early.

Tailgater Alert - Red Minivan Bearss Ave.   Saturday, December 26, 2009

I was coming westbound on Bearss Avenue between Interstate 275 and Dale Mabry Hwy this past Saturday evening, 12/26/09 when someone in a red minivan recklessly and aggressively tailgated me for no reason. In fact the driver of the red minivan rode my bumper for no reason other than for being in a hurry. Besides, the speed limit on this section of Bearss Avenue is 45 mph and is located in a dangerous area with tight curves. Right before Dale Mabry I observed the driver turn into a shopping center parking lot. I would have filed a regular PlateWire report but I was unable to get a tag number because it was late in the evening and I could not see the tag number as it was not lit (no matter why you are required to have license plate lights on your car!). The driver of the red minivan needs to know better to not aggressively tailgate other people on the road. As I mentioned earlier I would have filed a PlateWire report but I was unable to get a tag number as it was too dark.

"Privileged," Snot nose kid   Saturday, October 03, 2009

I was driving on 4th street N Below Gandy (approx. 110th ave). I was in the R lane when this white MERCEDES FL t95 l9j came roaring down the street in the L lane. Must have been doing @ least 30 above the limit. When the car was next to me the little rich snot in the passenger side turned and flipped me off. I'm not sure what I did. It appears as though her father was driving & there were 2 other young people in the back. I guess some people believe they are above everyone else because they are rich!

The State Road 60 Jerk   Sunday, July 26, 2009

On firday july 24th at3:10pm, this wreckless speeder that works with me at CVS DISTRIBUTION CENTER zooms by at 60mph in a 45mph zone in Heavy Rush Hour Traffic. He Repetidly was tailgaiting each person and cutting people off as he weaved in and out of the 2 lanes causing a chain reaction of people slamming on their brakes. He almost rammed into an suv in front fo him. The car honked at him and he forced his way into the lane over and didnt even look at the other driver! This Jerk is on state road 60 near 98th ave, everyday between 3pm-3:15pm, in a little 4 door white worn out white car. The car seems to be from 97-00. He's always wearing a Grey hat and a Grey work shirt with his name JOE embroidered on it in black letters.

Sitting at a green light for several minutes   Sunday, May 10, 2009

This driver doesn't understand that when the light is green you go not stop.

Obviously her mind was not on her driving or the 2 small kids in the back of the car.

She was probably thinking about getting on NutriSystem!!

    Texting & tailgating don't mix   Thursday, May 07, 2009

Yesterday while driving from to work, there was a female that road my ass the entire way.  And to make matters worse, she was texting too.  I had to tap on my breaks real hard a few times to get her to back off....and she in turn flips me the bird.  Something is off about this picture....she was the one tailgating me, and yet she tries to make it my fault for her almost bumping into her.  I hear a law is going to be passed sometime soon against texting while driving.  It can't come soon enough.

Bully on highway   Wednesday, March 25, 2009

I am soooo sick on these bullies in SUVs that think becuase they have a big truck they can; speed, not let you merge on the highway and talk on the phone like "ladi dah dah, I'm in big car screw the rest of you". I myself drive a Volvo SUV and mind other drivers as well. But Mr. Sumuel Guess Jr of Boca Raton, FL, thinks it's ok to speed and not care about other drivers trying to get home safe. Douchebag I hope you flip your hunk of Sh*t. Expect a little note in the mail from me A**hole.

Talking on the phone   Wednesday, March 25, 2009

So yesterday, I was trying to merge onto the Sawgrass expy at Oakland Park, and this idiot on the phone in a Nissan Armada plate# X51 XEY was speeding in excess of 90mph and I belive did not even see me or care that people were trying to get on the highway. Those who cannot do 2 things at once such as drive and talk should not do so, specially at those kind of speeds. It pissed me off so much, I got his address and will be sending him a little note. Chevy SUV on I95   Sunday, February 22, 2009

Last night (2/21/08) around 7 or 8 pm on I95 southbound around the Hollywood exit in Broward we experienced a deadly driver in a very large Chevy SUV that appeared dark green and had a FL plate that started with R79. He almost ran us off the road so it was hard to get the whole plate number. He was weaving in and out of traffic and tailgaiting everyone and purposely tried to run us off the road, he actually hit our car and put a dent in it.  We are OK but very upset. We could have crashed and got hurt or killed and maybe involve other innocent drivers around us.

This sort of thing happens all the time in South Florida, it is one of the most dangerous places to drive, and I've been all over the country. People here are ignorant and have no regard for safe driving or respecting life. I know what it's like to deal with aggressive drivers but people down here are a special kind of crazy.

Speeding in School Zone   Tuesday, January 27, 2009

Every morning on Westshore blvd I see cars speeding through the school zone for Lanier and Monroe. They sometimes will have an actual Sheirff deputy sitting out there in his car but they might as well use a cardboard cut-out of a cop.

I was pacing this person in front of me going down westshore at 45 mph which is the speed limit on Westshore. Well, right at the school zone I dont see their brake lights and watch them fly through and then right when the sign says end school zone I see their brake lights flash after they pass the cop. Why have a cop there if he isnt going to actually enforce anything???

Also, do all these people down in south Tampa really feel the need to fly through school zones and run stop signs in that school zone?? Its an elementary school folks. SLOW DOWN!
