Nissan truck with license plate 317 PIB backs out of garage on 12th Avenue so fast and without looking until it is too late to avoid running over pedestrians. I would strongly recommend backing out slowly. Otherwise, I expect you will run over some one sooner or later. I'm glad it wasn't me today.

U.S. Government Plates
Tuesday, May 19, 2009
So I wish there was a way to point out U.S. Government Plates, because I have a doozie. As of 5/19/09 approximately 12:45
Right at the rec center in Erie, CO, a driver with U.S. Govt plate G23 2135H made a complete asshat out of themselves. The SW exit from the rec center is a right turn only as there is a median in the road. What does this person do, they take their crappy gold early 90's minivan left, the wrong way, until they can find a cut out in the median to cross over.
Upon seeing this I flashed my brights to hopefully allow them to notice their own stupidity (knowing it mostly likely won't work). Then I saw it was a gov't plate so I wanted to get it down, upon seeing me speed up to catch their plate they begin to haul ass away only to get caught behind a pickup which they proceeded to tailgate and squeal their tires rounding 25 mph corners doing 15 to 20 over. Fortunately I have pretty good eyesight so I was able to pick up their plate # anyhow.
Thanks for being an asshat, asshat! Rest assured I will find the right authority to report you to. I hope you lose your job, because of your crappy driving!

With a KID in his car!!
Tuesday, July 29, 2008
Crazy psycho man on the lose on 83!!
I was driving to work today and made a lane change, turn signal included. Next thing I know the guy behind me blares his horn and starts gesticulating (yah, the finger).
I waved to apologize for my imaginary transgression. Sometimes it's just better to try and calm the situation down!
Anyhow, that didn't work. He went nuts and started Nascar drafting on my tailgate. I changed lanes again and passed a car in order to put distance between us. He tried to do the same but the good samaritan I passed closed the gap and rode beside another car to block him. He again went nuts blaring his horn, flipping people off everywhere and tailgating.
I figured this was the end of it but of course not. I got to the light at 83 right before the I-25 entrance and he pulls up beside me and rolls down all windows on is side.
To my amazement there is a young man sitting in the passenger seat beside him. Yeah a KID! He screams every profanity in the book at me. I finally pick up my cell phone, wind down my window and tell him I'm calling the police. He screams and cusses some more (yes, in front of this child he has as a passenger), flips me off and takes off.
So I did call the police but since we were in different directions now (I got on I-25, he turned left) they did nothing. They told me I could go enter an official report (I may later today but I'm pregnant and usually pretty tired after a long day at work). I'm disappointed the police would not take a report of an aggressive driver over the phone. I thought Colorado had a 3 reports and you get a warning rule but apparently not.
Anyhow - he drove a Black Mercedes SUV with license plate 098 PXB. Watch out for this nut case and his poor child.

Lunatic Man in Ford Explorer
Tuesday, June 24, 2008
Colorado license plate (?)VV 322, Dark Blue Ford Explorer driven by a scary heavy-set guy with a shaved head...watch out for this guy, he does not care what happens to you and will attempt to cause you to have an accident if you tick him off.
I had the misfortune of coming across this man at east Evans at the turn lane to get on Monaco Parkway at about 4:30 p.m. yesterday. The light was green but the light changed before I could get through safely through the light. At which point, this lunatic decided to incessantly honk his horn at me and yell through his window at me to which I did not take very kindly to and threw my arms up in frustration.
He went nuts at this point and was right on my bumper with his vehicle. When the turn light turned in my favor I went through the light and he followed. I was in the left hand lane from the turn when he promptly sped up and got into the right lane next to me and started moving into my lane thus trying to push me onto the median separating north and south bound traffic. Then when I sped up to avoid a collision, he then sped up and got in front of me in the left lane and stopped right in the middle of traffic, I was able to get around him easily enough but he then sped up in the left lane and again got in front of me and stopped in teh middle of traffic, I was able to get back around him (as I had the smaller quicker vehicle) and get away from him as quickly as possible but it came with further harrassment as he was trying everything he could to cause me to have an accident or to hit me.
I did call the police and gave a full description of the vehicle and license plate...just be careful with this guy. I am sure if they found him, they gave him a pat on the wrist which enfuriates me since he not only scared me but scared my daughter who ironically is taking driving class this week.

Dark Purple Cherokee, probably mid-1990's.
Plate # 456 OJP
Jerk behind the wheel is a blonde headed HS-aged punk.
Dude as his buddy (who looked like he hadn't showered in 3 years) started yelling at me randomly while I was riding my bike home from the dentist. HONESTLY, I did absolutely nothing to this a__ clown. After telling hime to "eat s___", he then decides to follow me. Smart move. I called the police who are now looking for his testosterone-loaded studliness. I'm not sure how my manhood will survive this.

This is not NASCAR
Thursday, June 14, 2007
Hwy 287 is a great way to commute back and forth to work. However, there is a yellow Mustang GT (not sure what the first number in the plate is (*19 FFC) who thinks 287 must be a NASCAR track. Honestly, what in the world makes him think he can tailgait other cars with less then 18 inches between his car and theirs? No it is not drafting, it is not cool, it is not showing off skills you think you have, it is simply dangerous. Not to mention stupid.
If you feel the need for speed, do it somewhere else. There are tracks around the area where you can truly test your skills and wreck that POS without endangering others. I ride a motorcycle and don't feel like trying to avoid idiots like you.

Watch out for NSU 755 from Minnesota
Wednesday, May 30, 2007
This car cut me off within about a foot of my bumper, as I was driving along through the intersection at Main Street and Third Street in Longmont.
First, this driver made an illegal lane change (in an intersection) and nearly took the front of my car off. Finally, no turn signal was given.
Cars regularly sneak into this 'middle' lane at this intersection, as the right lane is 'right turn only' and the left lane is 'left turn only.'
I'm getting tired of people barging their way in to try and get one or two cars ahead, causing a dangerous driving condition.

COSMIX Zone Speeding Problem Continues In Colorado Springs
May 14, 2007 12:25 AM MDT
by Scott Harrison
s.harrison@krdotv.com
COLORADO SPRINGS - Speeding on I-25 through the COSMIX zone in Colorado Springs is an ongoing danger to construction workers and motorists alike. However, even hefty fines and stepped-up patrols have failed to get all of us to slow down.
One of the biggest reasons to avoid speeding through a highway work zone happened in August of 2006, just before Labor Day weekend. Authorities say the driver of an 18-wheeler failed to slow down on I-25 in south Pueblo County, causing a wreck which killed CDOT worker Charles Mather of Pueblo West. His funeral was a week later.
As a driver, you never want to live with the knowledge of causing such a tragedy. Yet we run that risk every time we speed through a construction zone. Colorado Springs traffic officers see it all the time in the I-25 COSMIX zone. Officer D.C. Moorman explains, "If we work here too long it will cause a big traffic jam, and that's not what we want to do, either."
Even the signs warning of fines being doubled for speeding, don't solve the problem. Take it from a driver who was pulled over herself. "Oh, that's not a deterrent. I don't think so," says Barb Wischhausen of Colorado Springs. "I think people actually speed up when we see those, because we already know the cops aren't on the highway." Wischhausen was ticketed for driving 20 miles over the 45 MPH speed limit. "I never got stopped by the police before, so this is kind of exciting, actually."
That's not the response police want to hear. However, local psychologist Dr. Gary Forrest has an interesting theory for why some drivers ignore the speed limit. "A small percentage of those people have impulse control problems, or difficulties just in general. They're hurried, they're impulsive, they take risks, they don't think things through." Yet Forrest says most speeders don't blatantly disregard the law, or believe they can get away with it. "I think enough people are distracted or maybe even preoccupied about other things in their life. Work, paying the bills, simply getting to work on time." Forrest doesn't expect much improvement and predicts the challenge for police won't get any easier.
Police Sgt. Mark Comte says, "We don't care if we get zero tickets, but we're not seeing that. Some of the people we get through here are repeat violators. Two or three tickets on the Interstate, and they're just not learning from the first ticket."
Some police departments have been known to park unoccupied vehicles in certain areas to discourage speeding. One type of a sign that seems effective is an electronic sign which measures your speed and uses flashing lights to warn you to slow down. However, the problem is many cities don't have the extra money or resources to put the signs in other places where they'd do the most good. For now, the best speeding deterrent is the driver's own conscience. Barb Wischhausen says she's convinced now. "Believe me, this is going to change my whole driving experience, believe me." That's what police want to hear.
There are other limitations on speeding enforcement as well. Police say it's more difficult to pull drivers over with so many lane closures in the COSMIX zone. Dr. Forrest says many drivers can afford to pay the fine, even if it's doubled. However, police say with 90% of I-25 traffic through town being local, drivers should know better.

Reporting Aggressive Drivers
Friday, May 11, 2007
Aggressive driving behavior includes tailgating, weaving in and out of traffic, passing on the right or on the shoulder of the highway, cutting people off, failure to allow others to merge onto the highway or to pass, obscene hand gestures, honking, yelling or flashing lights, exceeding the speed limit, bumping or ramming another vehicle or brandishing weapons.
To report an aggressive driver, road hazards, or to request assistance, you can use your cell phone to make a free call directly to the Colorado State Patrol by dialing STAR CSP (*277).
When dialing Star CSP be prepared to communicate:
License Plate Number - this is key because no action can be taken without it
Location and Direction of Travel
Vehicle Description and Driver Description
The Aggressive Driving Behavior Being Demonstrated.

No regard for traffic laws
Sunday, April 01, 2007
Why is it that so many drivers here in Colorado and Colorado Springs have such a blatent disregard for the traffic laws? I would love to see the points assessed for speeding in a construction zone doubled. Just think how many people would lose their license and maybe insurance rates would go down too?
