I don’t believe this site will ever regain what you and I miss.

Whatever happened to the site owner Mark Buckman? This website is drifting like a ship with no one at the wheel.

Just sent Mark a message asking him what's up with platewire these days. Here's his Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/MarkBuckman

Silly me thought there might be some activity as a result of this thread.

I was one of the originals. Just happened to think of Platewire this evening. Haven't signed on in a few years. The last time I did, the blog was completely unrecognizable with trolls and nonsense.

Having encountered two separate incidents in the past week with some terrible drivers out here in the Bay made me of think of Platewire. Nice to see some familiar names still around.

I signed on today for the first time in forever.  Given that this (and other) blogs haven't been polluted, and the whole first page of flags doesn't have single canned response from it, I think pisseddriver26 has finally either given up or was banned.

That single user drove away all the regular posters, myself included.

I just signed on for the first time in months. I am planning to go through some posts to see what's new, and maybe start contributing again. AO

I just happened to think of this site, as those who are part of the original members, you know it's been a long time since I've been here. Do I still see the driving infractions I was seeing all the time I was posting right and left? You bet, I just don't seem to care any more - at least not enough to take their information down to flag them. Everyone is in their own little world and the majority of events that take place where I could feel like I'm the 'victim' are taking place because of lack of attention of drivers, mainly due to talking and texting on cell phones. There aren't typically confrontations with other drivers as I leave plenty of time to get where I'm going and therefore have more time to slow down or stop to let some people in front of me who might be waiting five minutes if I didn't. In just about anything we do in this world, a little kindness toward others goes a LONG-Way! For those who don't care that someone was kind to them, hopefully someday they will learn. There is a word for what I am explaining: CONSIDERATE. I have been helping many people for free, letting them give me a gift if they choose, but I'm not expecting anything. I tell the people I work for to just go help someone else in their areas of expertise, and this 'virtuous-cycle' I have actually seen come around and right back to my wife and I. Some refer to this as "Paying-It Forward." If more people did this, it could easily change the world instead of dog-eat-dog and every man for himself. I may be back or I may not, I have lots on my plate between maintaining a house and two vehicles (I do most of the work) and also helping others.
