295 S/Pennsylvania Ave. Merge

At the point where 295S runs out, before merging onto Penn. Ave in NE by the Sousa Bridge, signs give drivers at least 1/2 mile of warning that they need to merge to the two right lanes.  It is always amusing to see the abundance of local drivers who drive in the left lane all the way to the end and attempt to squeeze in, crossing the solid white line and sometimes even busting through plastic pylons.

Yesterday a jackface in a silver Lexus SUV tried to squeeze in by pushing me out of the way.  He was about an inch from my left fender when I honked the horn.  We had a nice calm conversation (rrrright) in which he accused me of "cutting him off."  Hmmm, didn't know you could cut someone off if they try to Sherman Tank their way into your lane!

Anyone else have similar experiences?

Let's just start by saying you will not win an argument with a Lexus driver. Their shallow little minds (I paid for a Cadillac and got a Toyota!) will not allow them to think that they are capable of doing any wrong. Lexus drivers are quickly topping Volvo drivers as the country's worst.

As long as people let them in, they have reinforced in their little pea-brain that they WILL get ahead of that line of cars.

IF, on the other hand, everyone did not let them in and they sat there for fifteen minutes feeling like a complete moron as all the traffic goes by (not letting them in), they WOULD NOT do it again next time, GUARANTEED!

I said it long ago on this site.

There needs to be a huge crane that picks up these morons and carefully places their cars into a HUGE DUMPSTER.

Exactly, look at what he was driving; not just an ordinary penis extender, but a LEXUS penis-extender.

Worst drivers:

Audi (I paid for a Mercedes-Benz, I got a Volkswagen)

Lexus (I paid for a Cadillac, I got a Toyota)

Saab (Stupid Arrogant Asinine Bungholebreath)

Volvo (totally clueless and mindless)

BMW (arrogant and stupid, a dangerous combination)

Mercedes-Benz (wait on me, I'm rich)

Acura (I paid for a Lincoln, I got a Honda)

Infiniti (stereo blasting and paying no attention to road)

Mazda Miata (Look what daddy [or sugar daddy] bought me!)

So... you guys are encouraging discourteous behavior on the pretext of... other people not being courteous enough to you.  Since when do two wrongs make a right?

Oh, and for an age that tries to avoid discrimination and stereotyping, your list of "worst drivers" is a real setback.

Wow, I thought this blog was dead.

I'm not sure which discourteous behavior you're referring to, but I would hardly call a refusal to allow someone to cut through a marked median with barriers and physically push you into another lane "discourteous".

Being from NOVA, you've probably seen this particular stretch of highway.  There is nothing subtle about its ending, and plenty of signs give warning.  Furthermore, the line of backed up cars in the proper lanes is ample of evidence of the highway's termination and of the cheater's actions.  These violators are generally not "lost" out-of-state drivers pulling this stunt; almost to a car, they have MD, DC, and VA plates.

As for that list, I think it was made in jest (though I don't want to speak for brokemoto).  Either way, I hope it takes a lot more than that to set one back in one's tolerance for others.
