If the "group of us" you refer to was driving at exactly the speed limit, you hadn't slowed down for conditions. The way I interpret it, you just weren't going to exceed the speed limit, and you didn't want anyone else to be able to either. I say: Slower traffic keep right. If this driver was able to pass on the right, which your description clearly implies, whichever driver he passed shouldn't have been in the left lane. I agree that reckless weaving is wrong, but it can be avoided by keeping right. I just checked, and South Dakota is one of the few states in the union that doesn't require slower traffic to keep right, but that doesn't change the fact that it should be done anyway.
oddjob3422: it doesn't negate the fact that the pickup was weaving about in possible black ice conditions. That's enough for the flag by itself.
Why didn't anyone move to let this guy just go? Then it would have just been his problem and not yours if something happened? And you should have been lower than the speed limit to begin with.
I agree that the weaving, etc was wrong. I said that. But blocking lanes is also wrong and makes it worse. Good call battlecat.
Sioux Falls drivers have nothing to talk about. I have lived here for just over 2 years now, and I must say, some of the worst drivers I have ever encountered live here. What this person has described is typical behavior on the roads during all hours of the day. So, honestly, I'd say s/he was right at home :)
