NJ Takes the lead in Idiocy

The New Jersey Supreme Court has decided to overturn the loss of license for a DUI arrest for one of New Jersey's finer residents.  The reason the court overturned it was because this person arrested didn't speak ENGLISH, and, therefore, didn't understand what the officer was saying to him.
Maybe each office should drive around with a busload of translators to cover every language.
What's next??? Will officers have to warn suspects in their native tongue while being shot at, before they can return fire?

Didn't speak English, so he didn't understand his Miranda; then HOW DID HE GET A DRIVER'S LICENSE?!? After all, he wasn't busted for driving w/o a license, but DUI. Call me a crusty old bastard, but as far as I'm concerned, speak English or get the fuck out.

It wasn't about that.  What got overturned was the automatic loss of license for "refusing" to take the test.  Since they didn't explain it, they can't justifiably claim he refused.  That law is asinine and unconstitutional anyway, though the treasonous Supreme Court doesn't see it that way.  Self incrimination anyone?

"No person shall be held to answer for a capital, or otherwise infamous crime, unless on a presentment or indictment of a Grand Jury, except in cases arising in the land or naval forces, or in the Militia, when in actual service in time of War or public danger; nor shall any person be subject for the same offense to be twice put in jeopardy of life or limb; nor shall be compelled in any criminal case to be a witness against himself, nor be deprived of life, liberty, or property, without due process of law; nor shall private property be taken for public use, without just compensation."

They guy still went down for DUI in court.  It was only the DMV sanctions that were at issue.  I like the idea of claiming you were too drunk to understand the admonition.   If this defense is ok, why isn't the "too drunk" defense also ok?
