Plate Redesign

I renewed my plates today and finally, after 13 years with the same design here in Oklahoma, I've been re-plated!! Only lived here in OK for a year now and have up to this point had a special interest plate because I couldn't stand to look at the standard issue plate. I am happy to report that they are requiring all drivers to rid their car of their old plate, and take the redesign this year when they renew. No more ugly plate!Moving here from Texas, I was sad to see those plates go. Texas also redesigned their plate this year as well; they do quite often. Oh well, OK finally redesigned! It's a big improvement in my opinion. For a look at the old and new design: http://www.worldlicenceplates.com/usa/US_OKXX.html

Too bad Oklahoma is replacing all plates with the new one. I honestly don't understand why some states do that, but I think it's a shame. Historic license plates are awesome and I don't see what's wrong with keeping all previous plate styles valid when a new one is introduced.
