  • The driver of the Beetle intending to turn left onto Ennis Joslin from McArdle crossed out into the median of EJ but did not yield to a motorcyclist traveling down Ennis Joslin the same direction as the Beetle driver's desired direction of travel. The Beetle driver narrowly missed being the cause of a fatality only because the motorcyclist predicted the Beetle driver's lapse in judgment and swerved out of the way just in time. Beetle driver needs to go back to defensive driving school or hand in his/her license; killing motorcyclists is serious!

I am in the middle lane - so I have a good view of him as he starts weaving back and forth across all 3 lanes of traffic. Making lane changes without a blinker. Cutting across multiple lanes at once. Then suddenly he exits the highway. road rage   Saturday, December 12, 2009

Driving this afternoon at 12:35 in Ft Worth, Texas in my tractor- trailer, I was on i-820 eastbound N of Ft Worth. A mile and a half before the exit for i-35w northbound, I moved left from the right lane across the middle lane, into the left lane for the left lane only exit. A small blue BMW came up behind me very fast, trying to pass me on the left. Because I was only driving the speed limit, he had to abruptly slow when he fell in behind me in the left lane. So- a few seconds later, he passed me on the right, hugging the right side of my trailer and truck, then dove in front of me (under my hood where I could only see the front half of his vehicle) and stood on his brakes while holding his finger out the driver's window. After dropping my speed in a panic stop from 60 mph to less than 40 mph, he dove across the roadway into the right lanes and sped off. Illinois License plate #862 7329. Blue or green BMW, black male driver.

dangerous driver in red truck going at high rate of speed   Sunday, September 20, 2009

I turned left out of Tierra Linda in Kerrville, onto Harper Road. It was about 1:45 p.m. 9-20-09. Soon after someone in a red truck came speeding around the corner and was driving I guess at least 70 mph in a 50 mph zone. He/she started driving too close to me and decided it was just terrible that I was going the speed limit, so went around me on the wrong side of the road.  This person was going so fast I could not tell what kind of truck it was nor could I see the license plate.  The driver ended up way ahead of me and it seemed as though they kept driving 70 or more , even after the speed limit went down to 35, as they were completely out of site by the time I got back into town. What is your hurry? You could kill yourself and  innocent people on the road, probably in a hurry for no reason as in most cases. Be careful and slow down. I was the only one in this drivers lane of traffic, but a few vehicles were traveling the other direction. They probably couldn't spot a license plate either. Whoever you are, if you even have a license, it needs to be taken away and you shouldn't have been given one in the first place. I miss the days when you didn't have to fear for your life driving in the Kerrville area.

Parking your vehicle here increases the parking congestion and submits your vehicle to expensive car damages, towing fees or worse, parking injuries and/or fatalities. Thank you for parking  in a parking facility and not some place where your vehicle may be damaged, vandalized or towed.  Thank you.

Illegal Behavior   Tuesday, June 09, 2009

I got some flack from some pathetic turd for posting about an idiot that was tailgating me over Memorial Day weekend. Well, it turns out that I have a valid right to be pissed off at someone following too closely. Not only is it extremely dangerous, but ILLEGAL! I was never 100% sure, but I did some research...

    Q. As Austin grows and traffic congestion increases, we should all think about safety. I frequently see drivers following too closely to the vehicle in front. Often I look in my rearview mirror to see someone driving right behind my car. Isn't this unsafe, even perhaps against the law?

    A. Texas traffic laws specifically address following too closely. Vernon's Civil Statutes Article 6701d. Section 61 states: (a) The driver of a motor vehicle shall, when following another vehicle, maintain an assured clear distance between the two vehicles, exercising due regard for the speed of such vehicles, traffic upon and conditions of the street or highway, so that such motor vehicle can be safely brought to a stop without colliding with the preceding vehicle or veering into other vehicles, objects or persons on or near the street or highway.

Which means, every time I look in MY rear view mirror and see a jerk tailgating, he is doing something illegal. I wonder how many lives are lost a year because of rear end accidents from following too close? Or how about the classic multiple car pile up because of a chain of tailgaters?

Road trips   Monday, May 25, 2009

I love a holiday weekend. I love this holiday weekend. Everything that it stands for and everyone that it applies to. Now having said that:

What is wrong with you people??? Coming home from Arkansas, late in the evening on Sunday night. Spent the weekend in the mountains, couldn't be happier. Ah but that was before we got to Dallas. See we have to travel I30 West bound to get home. Being late Sunday traffic is light, thank goodness. Why?

See you were the black male driver with the Virginia plates on a Pontiac (I think) sedan. You were a little erratic and I chalked it up that you had been on the road all day. But no, you had to prove me wrong. When I got up along side of you, you had a television / moniter mounted on your dash and you were watching television. Of course that was in between the texts that you were sending. I am sure you must be a REALLY important person, if only to yourself. Next time, get a room and watch your shows. Get off of Texas highways as you are a nuisance to the rest of us. If your texts are so important, pull the hell over. You only get ONE lane to drive in, not two. Just because there is more than one doesn't mean you can use them at the same time.

Now having said that? Welcome to Texas fool.

And no the "black male" was not a dig at his/your color. It is only to differentiate him from all the other white/hispanic/asian pontiac drivers out there.

Yet another a$$hole in a SUV   Saturday, May 23, 2009

WATCH OUT! ITS MEMORIAL DAY WEEKEND AND SO THAT SEEMS TO GIVE PEOPLE THE EXCUSE TO DRIVE LIKE COMPLETE A$$HOLES! BEWARE OF ALL PICK UP TRUCK DRIVERS, AND ALL MINI VANS WITH STICKERS OR KIDS. BEWARE OF ANY TRUCK WITH FOOTBALL STICKERS OR ANY KIND OF FOOTBALL MEMORABILIA! THESE PEOPLE ALWAYS DRIVE LIKE THEY OWN THE ROAD!

I just had a run in with a moron in a dark blue or black SUV. I believe it was a Ford Explorer, license plate 170 MZN. What's even worse, is that he was hauling a huge metal thing behind him license plate 26X WXD. I was driving home in my own damn neighborhood when this impatient punk decides to tail gate me so close I actually tapped the brakes as a warning to get off my bumper! I drive a Corvette and those cars have flat rear ends. I don't know if people like this inbred retard are just SO stupid that they can't ascertain how close or how far his front bumper is to colliding with the rear end of my car. I was already going 5 over the limit. I refuse to go any faster since there are kids running around and its a NEIGHBORHOOD! Not the highway! So he just kept tailgating me and then almost rear ended me when I braked for a squirrel that ran across the street. I watched as the huge metal bed he was hauling behind him hit the curb because he braked so fast as to not rear end me and the metal bed dangerously swung out. I turned around and followed the guy so I could get his license plate number because people like that are whom you hear about on the news killing a mini-van full of kids due to his crappy driving. I really think I scared him when he saw me behind him, but the dumb driver just kept trying to play games by stopping at stop signs within the neighborhood and NOT MOVING! Other residents, besides myself, were beeping at him to GO, but he just sat their like a brain dead retard.  Its Memorial Day weekend, so the only thing I can think of to give this a$$wipe an excuse to drive like that was either A) DRUNK or B) Just that f'ing STUPID. Please watch out for people that have low IQ's and drive pick up trucks/SUV's! This guy made me so mad that first thing Tuesday, I am filing a report with the Round Rock Police Department and giving them ALL the info on this guy.

Platewire on KTVT Dallas   Wednesday, May 13, 2009

Last week I received an e-mail from Mark that the local CBS affiliate was looking for Platewire users in the Dalals area. I figured, "What the heck?" and replied that I'd be interested in talking to them.

I forgot all about it over the weekend and then Monday morning, I get a call from the reporter, Arezow (pronounced orzo) Doost wanting to set up a time on Tuesday. We agree to meet at a coffeeshop that I use as my office. Arezow arrives with a photographer and we get started. We spend about an hour talking about Platewire and drivers, and driving around the area with the photographer getting video of me driving (and hoping to catch some bad drivers, which we didn't).

Hopefully it will raise awareness to the site and, just maybe, get drivers thinking about that they are doing.

Smash the turtle?   Tuesday, May 05, 2009

On a sunny Monday morning, driving down 174 in Burlseon, On my way to go mothers day shopping, My daughter and i saw a rather large turle crossing from the shoulder to a grassy part on the other side of the road. The turtle had just entered the road when we were driving by, and i swerved a little bit, hoping the drivers behind me, would do the humane thing too. But of course not! The LADY in a Silver Lexis SUV, decided "batter up!" and SCORE! Omg! That poor turtle. My 14 year old daughter was watching in the rear view mirror as the turtle was anhilated by the LADY driving her lovley "lexis". She never missed a beat, and my daughter was in tears as she just watched a innocent turtle being dragged up under a huge tire... KILLED! I slowed figuring it was going to be a man of course, when omg! It was a WOMAN! Wouldnt look at me, just kept driving like nothing happened. Now either she's blind (which is bothersome) or she did it on purpose. What a BITCH!

Borrowing guts   Wednesday, April 15, 2009

I need to sound off here about a syndrome I see among drivers on Interstate 20 between Ft. Worth and Dallas Texas that simply infuriates me.  I personally call this syndrome 'borrowing guts'.  Here it is in a nutshell:

Idiot driver who for whatever reason needs to get into another lane in semi- to heavy traffic.  Person is usually either young and new to driving (whom I tend to not be angry with because hey, they're learning) or old as lead paint (whom I get extremely angry with because if you can't handle the fire, i.e., freeway traffic then stick to the city streets and find another way to get to your destination).  There *are*  other roads besides the freeway.

I digress.  Borrowing guts is waiting for the person behind you to switch lanes and then switching lanes almost simultaneously with them because you're to f'n chicken to do it on your own.  What, you think if someone runs into me going 70 mph and you're 5 inches in front of me that you'll miraculously be spared?  LOL, just LOL.

I am not the person to entrust with your safety, lemmee tell ya.  I drive for a living and when I do see that person coming up to rear end me I won't be slowing down, I'll be speeding up and looking for a way to survive the situation.  You do NOT want to be 5 inches in front of me.

I will never understand the proclivity of this behavior on this particular interstate.  You try that crap on Central expressway and you'll be concrete barrier pizza topping.  What, do I just look like a nice understanding person in your rearview mirror?

I think I need to get one of those giant grill decorations with the teeth on it and weld it to the front of my truck.

    Ah, I feel better now.

Trucker ran me off road   Monday, November 17, 2008

Blue Freight driver, cab #98, plate # 4FE3697. I was in right lane on I-20, going speed limit, he's passing me, knows I'm there. I guess I wasn't going slow enough and he wanted back in the right lane RIGHT THEN, so he starts cutting me off. I had to slam on my brakes and drive on the shoulder to keep from getting hit. I passed him, then later slowed to get his plate #, he passes me, AND DOES THE SAME THING out of anger!

Shoulder Passer   Saturday, September 13, 2008

Heading north on I-35 on 9/12/2008 around 12pm local time a driver in a new white Mazda 3 with temp tags decided to pass everyone on the shoulder at 80 to 90mph even though everyone else was already going over the speed limit. I saw the driver approach from behind so I started to move over in to the shoulder to force him off the road. Luckily for him my wife stopped me from running him off the road into the grass. He did run over some semi-truck tire chunks and had two tires in the grass straddling the pavement. Next time I will run him off the road.
