To "Award" a driver, is to say thanks to a driver for showing courtesy and thoughtfulness.

To "Flag" a driver, is to warn a driver of his/her rude and/or careless behavior that you have witnessed.

To "Wink" at a driver, is to send a flirtacious message to a driver you've encountered.

To "Hazard" a driver is to warn them of a physical hazard that their vehicle exhibits.

  • 12 noon, Park Road, Columbia Heights in DC. Picture a lovely March Day in the District of Columbia. I am waiting in my GMC on Park Road to park, hoping someone would pull out of their parking place and allow me to park my truck so I can get lunch. Behind me drives up a Lincoln Navigator. This is where it becomes unbelievable. This ass passes me and immediately stops in front of me, in essence taking my place waiting for someone to leave their parking place. Absolutely unbelievable; I have seen some self-serving, idiotic, stupid, and arrogant driving in my days in DC, but this move takes it to a new level. May you never do that in front of someone with less restraint than I have.

  • 1105, 7 February, 2013, 1400 Block H Street NW. HEY! UberSCUM!!! I have control of the lane, so that means that I have the right of way. I know, the law means nothing to you because your Scumbag Boss, Travis Kalanick, makes huge contributions to the campaign funds of DC Councilmembers so that they will let you come in here and pay no fees or taxes to DC and transport passengers illegally in violation of laws that those Councilmembers have SWORN to uphold. And NO, I DO NOT have to let you in front of me so that you can give that brake pedal a serious workout in an attempt to help some ambulance chasing lawyer get rich. I have the right of way, ASSWIPE, and I am not giving it up to you. IN FACT, I will do NOTHING to help you. Go STICK IT WHERE THE SUN DON'T SHINE, UberSCUM.

  • Began leaning on the horn about a half block away when I moved out of the bike land to pass another biker. Was under the mistaken impression (and still is) that bikers must remain in the bike lane even when there are obstructions - parked vehicles, bikers, opened car doors, double parked vehicles. This was more irritating because she was so far away when she began leaning on the horn. The speed limit is 25 and it is unlikely that she would have been slowed by me even had she been closer.

  • Driving on K Street, waiting for the light at 1st NW. You thought that it would be a wonderful idea to A. pull up to me knowing that your lane ended on the other side of the intersection. B. pull into the pedestrian walk while waiting for the light to turn green, and best of all, C. gun your pretty little Escape so that you would cut me off once the light turned green. Dangerous. You would be the proud owner of a traffic ticket if there was a DC cop there. In this case, you are the proud owner of a flag. Nice.

  • Turning left from 13th onto Massachusetts, this jerk merged from a 3rd nonexistent lane nearly into my car causing a near collision. I was incensed one because he was blatantly holding his iPhone to his ear AND I had my 5 month old baby in the car. I honked to get his attention, and he continued on his conversation appearing oblivious but obviously ignoring his shittiness, as I layed down the horn to get him to acknowledge or drop his call. What a dick.

  • (His plates were the new MD plates with the American flag) Merging onto GW Parkway north, from the I395 bridge during rush hour, before the construction was finished (summer 2011). Generally, it's common courtesy to alternate, or "zipper" when merging, since it's stop and go at that time. Well, this a-hole punches it to try to get ahead of me (there was enough space for me to merge), so having committed (and signalling), I had to quickly move forward so I didn't hit the wall. Once he realized that he couldn't get in front of me and cut me off, he starts flippin' birds like crazy and yelling at the top of his lungs (white man in his 30s -40s?). So after the bridge, he guns it to pass me in the left lane and cut me off, where he continues to flip birds and swear to the rear view mirror. That's when I noticed the toddler in the car seat. Nice job, mr. parent of the year. I'm sure your wife and mom would be proud of you. Really, was it that important you couldn't let me merge in front of you? Funny thing is, I ended up getting onto the beltway before you...

  • Truck owned by "Nation's Capital Archives" driving like a maniac down M St NW in Georgetown, then crossed Key Bridge and made a left onto Lee Highway. Very aggressive and tailgating as if he was driving a Mini Cooper, and kept revving his engine as if to intimidate. I do hope he crashes into someone who will sue the hell out of him and the company employing him for letting such a menace on the streets.

  • After nearly running over two pedestrians while turning from 6th St NW onto NY Avenue NW, the driver proceeded to honk his horn at me as I was trying to navigate the crosswalk. We exchanged word, and then the driver rolled down his window to deliver a rude gesture. The driver was a National Archives & Records Administration Special Police Officer IN UNIFORM.
