Details

Bus #2213, Northbound Wisconsin Avenue at Georgetown Safeway.

This driver must have been a star pupil in MetroBus' Drive Arrogant Driver Training Programme. You know, the Driver Training Programme that brings you MetroBus drivers' mowing down pedestrians in crosswalks who have the WALK lihgt in their favour. Hey, I do not like waiting for 'em, either, but the law is the law, and Mama-san taught me that you do not go wantonly mowing down pedestrians.

Anyhow, this MetroBUNGHOLE was not content to block just one lane of traffic while he pulled his nose to the kerb but left his butt in the traffic lane while he picked up passengers. Oh no, even though his bus zone was clear, he blocked Two and One-Half lanes of traffic with his MetroBUNG so that no one could go North on Wisconsin Avenue and so that EVERYONE could make every stop that his MetroBUNG made.

I hope that you lose your job, buttwipe and have to sleep under a bridge.

Technically, I think "bungs" and "bungholes" are parts of barrels. But technicalities aside, I empathize with your MetroBunghole frustrations. One day, when the stars align, all DC cabs will crash into all DC metro buses. It nearly happens thrice/second, so it's just a matter of time.

Some of my favorite metro bung-stunts include:
1) putting nose of bus into oncoming traffic when making a left turn WITHOUT the right of way so that oncoming traffic must stop and let bus go,

2) driving in two lanes, then honking at cars that try to pass,

3) stopping at a light diagonally across two or more lanes (similar to the above-described bung-stunt),

4) blazing through an intersection 2-3 seconds after the light has turned red (has resulted in some notable fatalaties recently), and

5) signalless forced merges.

It is true that 'bung' and 'bunghole' refer to barrels and beer kegs, but both are applied, as slang, to the rectal aperture on human bodies as well.

How about when they gridlock and block intersections with impunity.

I once saw a D.C. Police pull over a MetroBunghole and issue the driver a summons for blowing a red light. I got out of my car and thanked him.

Ha ha, yes, I agree about the bung etymology.

Besides the obvious reasons, 1-20-09 was a beautiful day because one could walk the streets of NW DC without fear of being Froggered (Gen Y'ers, look it up) by a Metro Bungpipe.

Bungs are also used on pipes. Your oxygen sensor screws into one.

Metro drivers, on the other hand, generally just screw other drivers.

lol, way to bring it full circle!
